Speaker stands without using a tripod

Something I have been thinking about for a while and inspired (??) by Peter's (excalibur) thread.

Does anyone have any ideas, or know if they are for sale, of speaker stands that do not incorporate a tripod.

I am thinking along the lines of something similar to a parasol base you get in your garden with a speaker pole sticking out.

The need for this is when I am doing ceremony music at weddings. I only use 8" speakers which are fairly well hidden but, to me, the tripod sticks out like a sore thumb.

Any ideas ??

I was thinking along those lines, and if uplighting used maybe even stick a par can in.

Problem - room in my already overfull vehicle, for something which may not make 'much difference' :D :D
