Could anyone help me and my dad on how to wire a bulgin plug. Iv found this diagram but we cannot make heads or tails of it :embarasse http://pages.britishlibrary.net/davidharrington/wiring.html

pins 2,3,4 and 5 are positive connections, to return to 6,7 and 8, i would presume. 1 is earth.
for example, a par can or whatever on channel 1 would be connected to pins 2 and 6.

So basicley if i was to connect a light to pin 2 the positive (Brown wire) would connect to it and the negitive (blue) to pin 7 or 8

Yup you got it, also put a link across pins 7 & 8 (if you are wiring a chassis socket) if it's a plug then 7 or 8 all your negatives will connect to those pins, the center pin is your earth.
so if your wiring a 4 channel light box you would need 6 core cable, lets say
the 6 cores are numbered 1-6
core 1-4 would be your (positives
5 would be your (negative)
6 would be your (earth)
if you are using coloured cables just remember which colour you have put on which pin.

I love wiring up bulgins enough to make you pull your hair out trying to get wires the right length LOL

Ok its all sorted now thanks to Wayne and is AWFUL drawings :teeth:
