As Davesounds mentioned.....

He has copious amounts of quality old style type equipment mixed in with his newer stuff and uses it frequently....He is not big a fan of Denon....I'm sure he'll add his reasons why.....

Have you got attatched to an older piece of equipment....post your pics here!!!;) ;) ;) ;)

I don't have any pics, not that they are necessary, but the oldest bit of kit which is still use is my SM58 mic.

I think it cost £130, but despite being rather scratched & having a few replacement grills, it's still going strong after nearly 20 years.

Like Trigger's brush? :D :D :D :D

I had a very old Shure mic, which went to Penmare, and a pair of Vastos ( a much underrated light ) which are now installed in a club. My Peaveys must be getting on a bit by now, I'd guess they're at least fifteen years old, if not more.

Loving the video clip.

The oldest bit of kit I own is my Laptop which is over 5 years old and still going strong.

Lights, speakers and everything else has been replaced in the last 3 years or so.

He didn't say he doesn't use new gear, just prefers his older valve based kit to newer replacements.

I wouldn't change my 18in Carlsbro base units (at least 20 yrs old) for new bins. They are what I want and I like the tone I get. Who needs Bose? :D

Mine is a Numark CDN20s which still goes out on hire (if they don't want to pay for Denon :D) which I bought in February 2002.

The DJ came to it from Huddersfield   , and used Orange amps. We were in awe. We only had RSC. :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

RSC. Roger Squires, and I can't find out what the C was. :o :o

The upmarket gear was Futuristic Aids Limited.

I got a 200w stereo FAL amp. I'd arrived then. :D :D :D :D :D
Gald to hear you've still got an RSC amp, I blew one up, and sold the other. :( :(

No, it was RSE http://www.cpsound.co.uk/products/rse_home.htm

I had quite a long conversation with Roger Squire recently. ;)

FAL was never upmarket when I started working!

Yeah , but you missed the Golden Era by a couple of decades, sonny. :p :D :D :D :D

PS, I think we're talking about two different things here. I've never heard of RSE. RSC was the budget range of gear, FAL was the good stuff. Oh the hours I spent in RSC shops in York and latterly Hull.

Oldest piece of kit in posession. That would have to be a sennheiser E825s wired microphone. (8 year old) i dont really use the mic that much because i use my Sennheiser radio mic for discos.

Also a Denon DN-D4000 Twin cd player. (bought it brand new in 2003) This faithful servant has been brilliant. Had a lot of use over the time ive had it. Perfect working order with no broken buttons or lights. Its never let me down.

Had four of these, through the years. Another DJ cooked one by blocking the cooling vents. :muppet: :bang: One was faulty from new, cutting out when turned up above a whisper. The other two ran for many many years, and both eventually lost one channel.

Also I have my old FAL box lights, but although in good order, they don't go out any more due to a LED invasion;)
