Packing your Van/trailer - I have run out of room again ...

Hi chaps

I am running this by people before I start stacking stuff in the trailer. This is how it currently looks below. Ignore the two Chaos they are used on the small rig that fits in a car and are just in there for storage until the trailer comes out of the garage again.

Does anybody stack above one item high and if so how do you do it. There are a set of NJD quartets that are not in there yet, so I need to start stacking.

Was going to buy rubber feet for the flight cases so they don't scuff up when stacked and then get some strapping similar to what is holding the truss on the road trunk at the rear.

Advice would be welcome as don't want items crashing around the trailer for obvious reasons.

Bit of maintenance on the road trunks spring catches. One had seized. WD40 moved it as it moves everything.

You are right thought if I take that out my problems are solved. :D

You can screw some load lock metal rails half way up the side of the trailer going from front to back of the trailer, then you can stack things like speakers etc on top of the heavy items, then put ratchet belts or straps into the load locks and arround the items keeping the stacked items in place.

Put two bits of solid wood (or metal) on each wall wit bolts and cut a few plywood strips.

You can then add a removable shelf for lighter items like speakers.

Any chance of posting a picture of how you have done it?

It's OK to stack as long as everything is wedged and won't move.

Of course what happens if you put shelves in is that if your set up changes at all then you might not make the most of your space if that's an issue?

I brought my Van with a unit of shelves in the back however I ended up taking it out as when I expanded some stuff wouldn't fit anywhere.

This might not be an issue for you but something worth considering.
