Aside from Disco's and Quizzes, what else can us fellas with speakers and mixers do in a pub to drag in the punters?

Our local is looking for inspiration, and they're looking at me. I've got a race night in the pipeline and I'm considering running an Open Mic afternoon.

Does anyone else provide any other entertainment?

Really hard this one I had a regular quiz/theme night fortnightly at a pub but off the beaten track so it was really hard to get regulars in there, is there a free pub magazine in your area?
Ask landlady/landlord to put an ad in there not usually that expensive, theme nights work sometimes combined with a quiz any sort of prizes usually works.
Open mic nights/days don't bring people in in my experience hope that is of some help.

Have you Karaoke Fascilliities....

I have set up long-term runs at pubs with this.I got bored with all of them...before the guests did so I don't have them no more....but you may have a stonger constitution than me.........;) ;) ;)


Tell the publican to sell John Smiths @ £1.80 and Fosters @ £2.00...thats what they do at my Local WMC and its never empty!!!:) :) :)

One of the pubs I quiz in has quiz/curry night Tuesday, Open Mic Wednesday, a rolling music night Friday (live band /disco/karaoke on different weeks), live band Saturday and Karaoke Sunday. They also have BBQs on Sundays in summer.

It's only been going about 18 months and is doing quite well. It has a lunchtime cliental from Canary Wharf (who have been known to pop in for a drink on the way home and stayed) and regulars evening/weekends.

Have a Cowboy Night Fancy Dress event--with music to match.

No==they cant afford me doing the Barn/Line Dancing--just had a similar enquiry from a Pub:eek:

Some good replies there, we already do a karaoke night on a Friday and a quiz on a Sunday, but if the quiz doesn't take off then we need to come up with an alternative for Sundays. It gets really busy on Sundays until teatime but the landlord wants something to keep them in.

I was thinking of a monthly race night, monthly/fortnightly open mic and was trying to get ideas for the other weeks.

The novelty of a Race-Night would wear off after the second one.....Open mic and Karaoke are very similair..and you are already doing Karaoke on Fridays.


Why not just promise to play great,great,great Music all night.....Thats what I do.....it seems to work;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Kids Discos.....


We have turned Bank Holidays into main events here in our sleepy little village.

The Adults hand the kids off to us ....then go and get totally wrecked and rejoin us for some early evening dancing!!

I have already invited you down to show you how we turn a kids party into a main event....but you didn't reply???:eek: :eek: :eek:
