"Absolute Entertainment" ???
Thought you was "5 Star Entertainment" or something?

Sorry, but I don't like the AE on its side.
That leaves the two in the middle.
The purple one on the right is no good, as the dark purple makes part of the text almost impossible to read, which leaves the grey one on the left...and although you can at least read that one, I still don't like it.

Helps with a logo to have a rough idea of what sort of market that you want to be attracting?
Saying that, I have to agree with the others that they aren't to my liking.

Hi Guys,
You all started commenting as I was uploading the logos unfortunately, so I will answer your questions now.

They are all potential logo graphics, as mentioned in the OP.

I was hoping for positive feedback and suggestions as how I could improve them.

The name was formerly known as 5 Star Entertainment, it is now Absolute Entertainment. I thought that the name sounded better, so went for it.

I am mainly looking at the Wedding and Prom market (but other functions are of course accepted, as I enjoy DJing them all)

I think you've mis understood mine and Darren's posts. We was asking what the 'logo' was ment to be.

The letters "A" and "E"? Just a hunch :D

Or a "3" and a "d", if rotated the wrong way!

None of them say 'wedding' to me, but of the ones posted, if the theme and fonts were carried through the rest of the website/documentation then this one works best for me...

It is a circle with an oval round it to form a logo, I can't think of a better way of explaining it, sorry :)

I think that they all require improvement, hence the thread. Could you all post some ideas below of how I could improve them, any tips/advice would be greatly apprecheated.
Cheers

Get a professional like Shaun to do it.

I would do, but I'm honestly not sure what I want entirely, or how I would like it to look. I am looking for something "basic, but effective", rather than something really fancy :)
I quite like Amplify Events (http://www.amplifyevents.co.uk/) logo

Whole reason why I used Shaun and Martin recently is because they know what works and offer you several drafts which you can custom and tweak to something you like that also works.

Yes, I would admire that flexibility.

I too can vouch for Shaun. He gave me plenty of ideas to pick from, but it helps if you can have the basis of an idea when approaching him ;)

I am sorry mate I am not really digging any of those logos. Don't try and be too clever otherwise you will spend half your time explaining it when you give out cards. Make it simple and try and move away from any Cliche's.

I don't really like to talk about my design services on the main forum, but I will on this one occasion since it's being discussed.
I've recently changed the way I work. I no longer provide a huge amount of different concepts as standard, as the time involved in coming up wih them all and the time involved in designing them meant a lot of the time I was working for less than the minimum wage especially when I factored in the amount of time spent on all the concepts. :d
I now offer two options: The most cost effective is option one, where the clients has an idea in their head and I'll bring their ideas to fruition. Option two is where I'll provide a minimum of three different concepts for them to choose from based on the type of image they want to portray for their business. Obviously option one is the most cost effective, but option two is better for those that prefer me to do all the creative thinking.
I'll bow out of this thread now, I just wished to clarify the different options available.
Thank you to all that have recommended me. :beer1:
