Do any of you use a mains filter.

If so do they live up to their claims of a hearable improvement in the sound quality?

Thanks

A filter wont improve the sound quality, it will clean the electrical path and block dangerous spikes which can damage equipment, especially delicate electronics. They also filter RF interferance. Turnkey.co.uk do 8 way 19" versions for £49. They sit inline between the mains and the equipment connected.

So claims that they have the same impact on sound as using very hi-grade and expensive interconnects is just advertising licence?

I would imagine that the cleaner the supply, the more efficient the amplification process, hence a better sound you would get - but the difference wouldn't be audible to us, and there are a zillion other ways to improve your sound :)

What would you class as some of the most cost effective?

Thanks
