Hi following on from rob and pauls help in another post its about that time for my yearly site slating :p

Let me know whats wrong (and right) with it.

I know the page loading on index is not great and there is a very obvious spelling mistake - :beer1: for the first one who finds it.

No motives - I just like the honest feedback from time to time. Its always good to have a critical eye and see other peoples opinions. Ie comment above :zip:

You need to go through and capitalise 'i' when referring to yourself.

On the Weddings page I think it's a bit too 'bullet point' - could flow better.

I think there are too many Youtube clips (over 50 mins in total) - not sure what they offer that are different from each other - maybe a bit of editing and make one or two really good ones?

I think overall its a good site.
Agree with some of the points above regarding some areas being made slightly more professional.
Lose a few video clips and maybe some of the photos of yourself.
Also dont really get the "Upload 30 tracks" thing- why 30 ? Would think it would be better to say "we'll take as much or as little guidance over the music as the client wants".

Couldn't agree more.

I find it quite bizarre that a disco should dictate exactly how many tracks the client is allowed to choose, although a fair few seem to do this.

Reminds me a bit of Gary's thread about the venue dictating all sorts of things which SHOULD be decided by the bride & groom.

I agree a bit too informal to say the least. its supposed to be a bit more joky but i can see where your coming from.

The colour changes as it does not tile very well. I love the coloue but really should look for something a bit more uniform like your site.

great - thanks! I did edit one on the front page but i agree. some more pics would look good - especially in the gallery section.

I have got fed up with silly requests in the past that i would never play again (monkey wrench for a wedding disco rings a bell). each track costs - 70p-£1 and it all adds up if your out 2-3 times a week! My bill was pushing about £600 last year on lots of tracks I really did not need.

I could buy a new subwoofer for that :p

I am getting good now at reading the crowd and playing all the right music no matter what mess my set lists may look i always have a busy floor which is the main thing.

With the 30 - the client chooses more carefully because of it. most the requests i get are pretty much what i would play and there is a fair old selection.

I could say you can add another 50 but it will cost you a further £50 :p
No i need to put on it that i can do bespoke play lists and give examples as it does look like i just do wedding cheese.

I dont think its going off topic- just a strange way of phrasing it.
It only costs £50 if you dont have any of the tracks but then if thats the case I would question whether your music collection is what it should be.

Not with you :confused: i do extend the track list some times. I obviously do not charge them :). I have every reasonable party request at most gigs. Although there is the odd one which slips past me and i feel like a real berk ;)

I've just been prepping for a gig in ten days time and was amazed that some of the tracks on the wish-list weren't in my collection. One of the things I love about DJ'ing is finding tracks I don't know and rediscovering songs I'd forgotten.

Then there's the tracks that I've always had but never used to play that are bankers now, like 'The One & Only' and 'Build Me Up Buttercup'.

If someone requests something I don't have (and I consider it worth getting), I apologise and tell them I'll get it so they should ask me if they see me again.

I think thats the whole fun of being a DJ really. I get requests sometimes on the night and expect it to be there but it isnt. works the other way too. someone asks for something random and hey presto :)
