Have you got a budget?

what is it you want to do with them?

do you just want to use them for discos?

do you want to get into proper laser shows?

do you just want toys?

just took a look at the other link,
nice looking toy,
I`m a bit dubious about the chinese built lazers, as I have heard horror stories from a few people.
That german company do a few big bad boys in their other listings.
I think I`m gonna have a little read up on scanner speeds etc to see what I need

In a word - dont buy laser world kit - its not good.

what is your budget and dont forget a proper control system is going to set you back a lot of £.

1w lasers wont relly work for crowds bigger than 200 people and will be lost outside.

 200 people! you mean in your opinion a 1 watt lazer wont fill a tennis court sized room ??. I beg to differ on that one..
Had a 400mw green and blue jobbies and they`ve looked plenty bright enough from the back of a thirty metre hall, specially if you got enough haze about.
I can see your point about outside, but I am on about small 2000-4000 people sized mini festivals. Or big markee events not the main stage at V or Glasto:p

200 people outside - i didnt word that very well.

You need to remember that to do a proper laser show the audience need to be a good distance away to see the show.

I am not trying to dampen your idea but you need big power to get an effect esp outdoors.

I recently went to poland to do lasers for a grace jones show and i was provided with a 5watt whitelight and it was lost after front of house only 100m away.

i regularly use 8w green lasers for outdoor gigs and they work a treat up to a point.

lasers are not a simple as every one thinks and the control takes a long time to master.
we say for every min of show its a day of programming.
doing it live is great fun and ill upload some live busking i did recently with 2 8w greens with mirrors with alphabeat dj'ing if i can find the vid. just to give a flavor of what power can do indoors.

try again ;)

I have just seen a 2w rgb with pangolin quick show software 500mW 532nm, 1300mW 655nm, 200mW 473nm, 40k scanners.
ilda in and out
dmx xlr in and out, led display, triple fan, mic sensor etc etc
all in a big black box with a 28mm bolt (which should slide nicely on a manfrotto..)
I know the 40K scanners are very quick so it should draw pictures and defined lines very well.
I`m not the brightest when it comes to lazers but it looks like a chinese built one.
I am under the impression that the chinese tend to over-rate the actual power of the diodes.
Is there any way you can put a meter on these things and double check the output?
Also I`m told the pangolin software is very very good.
A friend mentioned when you get the hang of it you can scan pictures which will draw outlines and basically project the outline of the scanned image

The bloke wants £2500 for it...if the diodes are what he says they are is that a decent price?
