Just had a nice thank you card for a Wedding I played at on 12th August. Also in the envelope is a cheque for the remaining balance, which they already paid me on the 1st August!

I've written to them thanking them for their thank you card, but also pointing out that they've already paid and enclosed the cheque :)

I find this situation very strange.

Firstly, how on earth can they forget that they've already paid you?

Secondy, don't they think you'd have contacted them by now if they DID still owe you for the disco you did for them 3 WEEKS ago?

Maybe they're just incredibly stupid, or maybe it really IS a tip!

It was paid in on 7th August and showed as cleared on 11th August on my bank statement, so pretty sure it's cleared safely by now.

The only thing I can think of, is I sent them an email reminder about the invoice that I'd previously sent and a couple of days later their cheque came. Perhaps they'd already posted the cheque and didn't see the email until now and thought I must not have received it, though I'm fairly certain I confirmed I'd got it when I spoke to them a few days before the Wedding.
