Hi All,

As many of you will probably know, I am on UKBride as a DJ for Brides to ask questions to - The UKBride Disco Expert :D

Anyway, I am getting a few brides asking me if I can recommend DJ's for different parts of the country and wondered if you could all post (If Possible):

I'm not sure about that.

Firstly, that list is out of date (e.g. Tom is still on there & he no longer does discos).

Secondly, in many cases there is nothing on there about which areas people cover, which Scott was specifically asking about.

Surely if people want to be contacted by brides to be from the UK Brides site then the best thing to do would be to advertise with that site / with Julian?

I haven't kept up to date with the whole UK Brides thing but, from my initial recce in to that site and it's forums, and the initial opinions I formed of it's forum members, I would rather not have my business recommended to members of the site.

Anyone else who wants to know the areas I cover can quite easily find out online or from one of the many marketing channels I do use.

We really do re-invent the wheel from time to time on here!

1. Ages ago, we extended the signature rules so that as well as your standard signature, you could add the areas you covered, and

2. The map that has been linked to a few times in this thread.

Between those two things, Scott, it should be extremely simple for anyone to find someone for cover (of course, it doesn't help if people haven't done either! ;) )

I appreciate your concern Darren and to some members this may sound harsh (I'm not very good at putting my thoughts in to words), I will be recommending people who I have worked for, have passed work on to before and also those I feel I can trust after spending 2 years as a member of this forum and meeting/getting to know them a bit better.

There are some DJ's on here who I have never spoken to off the forum, but I would trust after reading their posts etc...

Is this map visible to public or just for other users. Would be great too have something like this in the DJ listing section?

It would be a useful sub forum in the jobs available section rather than a sticky as this is a good resource (providing that everyone adds their details).

Can this be split into the types of work covered also?

Chaps... this is getting a bit out of hand.

The map was so that other forum members could find someone easily in any area.

The vital information is your contact details and your forum name (so that other forum members who may not know your business name can identify you.)

A sales pitch isn't really relevant since you're not selling to the general public.

K.I.S.S. rules here!

PS: You can amend your listing at any time... it's going to get VERY messy if people just add a second one!

Also.... not sure how it happened, but someone who shall remain nameless managed to add driving directions to various places on there!

Presumably it was a link to the thread about the map, rather than a link to the map itself.

I'll also hazard a guess that it was a link posted by Callum (Jiggles).

Not sure why, but every time Callum posts a link, it takes you to the thread but doesn't keep you logged in there, so you need to log in on that tab to view.

God only knows how Callum has his computer / forum set up, but I haven't noticed it happening with anyone else, but it always happens with Callum's links

This would appear deeply disrespectful of forum users !!!

It would appear that way yes but that was in no way the intention. :) I added a little man swimming in the north sea (and said it was £60 quid sid), thats all - hardly a travesty respect

The only intention was to make a couple of forum user laugh - nothing more. ;) i understand that may lead to others adding stupid things and realize the errors of my ways. :)
