Anyone know if I can do the following......

I've brought tons of tv shows to watch on my lappy from itunes in an m4v format.

I want to get these off the lappy and have it just for a playout device.

I have in my room an original xbox which I use to play normal dvds.

It wont let me play them on the xbox if I burn these m4v's files to a normal cd.

Now does anyone know if I have to use a dvd or if I have to convert to avi etc...?

Only other option is to invest in a small lappy to live in the bedroom and have an output to the tv but then that means I cant control with a remote.

Ideas gentleman?

Right Xbox I've been told doesnt play any sort of cdr/dvdr (or whatever they are called).

Ipad is just far to expensive.

:agree:

Perfectamundo.

Also avoids potential infringement of copyright laws and saves on blank media ;)

You can stream media from your pc and watch it back on the x box, ie: your x box is upstairs and your pc is downstairs, but it doesn't support the mp4 format, unless i've missed something and it does.

Only thing i can think of is to convert them.

Welcome to the wonderful world of being stung by Apple and locked in to their walled garden of incompatibilty with anything.
