Live Bands - Recommendations / Links etc

Hi all,

A very good friend of mine is starting to get underway with plans for his wedding. I've given him lots of advice, tips and phone numbers already. I will be supplying the Disco Entertainment.

He also wants a live band to play aswell and has his mind set on a Swing / Commitments type band. I wondered firstly if anyone has any recommendations etc and secondly, preferably a band that does not go through an agent (if that's possible?).

I was at a friends wedding in Jersey a couple of weeks ago at Gorey castle.They had a fantastic band called Take This...we thought they was a Take That tribute band but haw wrong we was,they played a big verity of stuff from rock to ska......highly recommended!!!!! Oh the Nexo sound system was top class!!

Last night I did the Royal Bath in Bournemouth with the Regular Joe's

They did a lot of swing / jump jive stuff - Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Louis Jordan, Louis Prima - along with versions of Paolo Nutini's "Pencil" and Queen's Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Last night they were an eleven piece!
They do a fair few public shows so could be seen first.
We were very impressed.
