Two phone calls last night looking for a DJ - both Weddings, and both DJ hadn't shown! One local DJ, and one a DJ from Derby - why anyone books a DJ for a Wedding in Hereford from Derby is beyond me, but heigh-ho they learn by their mistakes! Unfortunately wasn't able to help, but passed on some other DJ's numbers.:bang:

Some of us are perfectly able to travel vast distances and still turn up on time and do a Professional job week after week after......................................
even if the M42 /M5 junction was closed yesterday afternoon with a smash caused by the weekend :muppet: drivers--- still arrived 45 minutes early;)
Take your point though, should be a local available.
I suppose its the usual boring story--very reasonably priced Disco
You have to feel for the B and G --unless they were cheapskating of course:whistle:

I had a phone call Friday evening from a groom confirming everything was ok for the following day's Wedding...
...He was shocked to hell when I told him I wasn't his DJ and I was booked elsewhere!! He said "My other half said she confirmed everything with you" and he gave me her name I said "I haven't had an enquiry from anyone with that name and I always send out booking forms etc and request a booking fee."
I wonder if he found a DJ...? hmmm

It still amazes most of us that anyone could book something this important and get nothing in writing, pay no deposit or NRBF and EXPECT it to be fine.
Anyone with half a brain would phone a week before surely:confused:
Really people are their own worst enemy:bang:

It must be terrible. Couples spend so much dosh on Weddings for some idiot to ruin the evening entertainment by not turning up!
Out of the whole day - it's what the wedding guests look forward too.

This occasionaly happens in my area also. When you ask them do you have a contract in writing, its normally no we dont.next question how much were you being charged, answer about £100.
Why is it they cannot see that the cheapest is not always the best option?

And you think thats a guarantee that I'll turn up? I'll see how I feel on the day or if a better offer comes in I may not be able to make it :D
(I am joking of course :) )

I'd love to know what these two discos were charging the clients (or what they WOULD have charged if they'd turned up!), and also whether they took a deposit.
