Giraffe Stand - with ultimax lighting bar

Hi,

has anyone changed the standard single overhead lighting bar on a Giraffe 4ft dj stand to a double one similar to this?

If so where did you get the bits and how much?

Or is is just easier to buy the ultimax (ULTIMAX UMDJS12T) pictured above?

You need the Ultimax clamps, the simple ones about £25 a pair, plus the bar. Bear in mind, Ultimax has larger diameter poles, so the sensible answer is buy a full Ultimax rig. S/H non Ultimax stands don't sell well.I know of four on here that didn't sell at all.

Ultimax tops will not fit Giraffe uprights without some modification. AFAIK ULtimax don't do a top casting small enough to fit the Giraffe pole.

Yes I did exactly that a few months ago - bye bye giraffe single bar rubbish, hello Ultimax - well worth it and just change the whole lot rather that try and modify, besides the Ultimax deck stand on it's own is far far better than the giraffe.

I'm not going out with a tape measure, but I thought the smallest one would have.
I'm not even putting a pint on it though. ;) When I've been and measured, I'll let you know. I did consider doing something like this myself, but to be honest, a full Ultimax stand is a way better idea. Also, the dual bar is way better than the single.
