enough power

ok been asked to do bonfire night so will be outside on lorry trailer

worried if my system will be loud enough

i have a warrior 1300
and four class d 250wrms speakers

so at 4ohms the amp is pushing out 650watts a side

I would say its not enough. I was using Classd tops (cant remember wattage) with a EP2500 amp and that was only a back garden and because of the open air i was losing a hell of alot of volume.

At may appears to be not as loud because you don't have any solid surfaces to reflect the sound. The question is, what area do you need to cover, and is it the whole of the event area or just a section of it

I do a lot of summer fetes mate and I was always told by a professional sound engineer that you should not try and fill the field with sound because it wont work.

Concentrate on the audience immediately in front of you.

I might well get shot down in flames by members who are really into their sound but that is what I do.

ive looked at your website (its good)
but i really dont think your systems big
enough to be hammered outside.
however if your careful you can address
120 or so people in the vicinity of the trailer
(roll off the power robbing Bass to save clipping your amp)
after all its Public Address and not HiFi or a rave
id do it but take a spare amp

I've done a couple of outside jobs with my MC T2000 amp and just a pair of Studiomaster VX15 speakers it was plenty loud enough.

I think maybe the amp could be your problem because you will be driving it hard on 4 speakers.

I would think your best bet would be to start a new thread on outdoor lighting :)

Cheers for the replys guys trouble is my backup amd is a warrior 500 which is just for an emergency now most of the gigs i've done in halls never had the amp past half way.
But if i remember from other years when i've been, you walk past the disco just past the entrance, i think they just want the music around where the food is
now when you walk about 50 yards away where the kids ride are you cold not really hear it anymore. i guess which way the wind travel could be a factor.

Just had an idea that the neighbors may not like it's a nice day lets stick the system outside and whop it up. see what it sounds like

Long speaker cables, and/or extenders. Get one set of cabs near the gear, and the other nearer the event.

I use a similar Warrior amp, and it should cope fine with four Class D's. Just don't be tempted to redline it, and there should be no problems.

I just remembered. I ran up a pair of Class D tops at home, and my son working a mile away in a straight line came home, and told me what song I'd been playing.
