Thought I'd get a new limbo set (my current homemade one is made from 3" by 2" - sturdy but heavy!). Looked everywhere and couldn't find anything strong enough or at the right price so I had a bash at making my own lightweight version. Thought those of you who are interested might like to see the results and maybe have a go yourselves.
Basically this is 2x32mm pvc pipe for uprights with angle cut pieces of PVC high pressure water pipe for the pegs. The holes for the pegs are drilled at an angle and then bonded to the upright in two places. Cross piece is a piece of overflow pipe. The slot in mountings on the base are made from 38mm pipe.
Total cost: about £5. It very rigid considering the construction and it is as light as a feather. Using a circular saw for the cuts, it takes about an hour and a half to make one and it's certainly better than anything you can buy for under a tenner.
Just need to make some neater bases and then give it a lick of paint and glitter.
