When flicking through the prolight catalogue, we noticed that they are now doing a 'wireless' version of the CA-8 controller - the CA-9 (http://prolight.co.uk/item/cont01/)
Is anyone using these and if so, what do you think of it?

I wouldn't mind one! How much are they?

Haven't done any research as yet, Charlie, so not sure. Thought I'd ask on here first to see if anyone's used one yet.

That's just the transmitter, Paul.
Here is the transmitter and receiver (http://www.soundlightuk.com/shop/products/Acme-CA-9RTX-Wireless-Remote-System.html) and I presume you need both.

Any guesses which 'selected items from the Acme range' it controls?
I can't think of any lighting I've got with five pin din connector

I mentioned it a while back Angela :)
Andy (deltic), posted up a ProMobile artice a while back which shows you how to make a CA8 into one of those. The parts were from Maplin and if i remember right he said it didnt take too long and wasnt so expensive :)
Edit - Post 3 links to the relevent thread http://www.forum.mobilediscodirectory.co.uk/showthread.php?t=26795&highlight=wireless+ca8

Ah silly me I thought seemed a bit too reasonable price :)

Its about time. i have three lights that do not take C8A which is a shame.
I have been looking at one of the ryger things (foot pedal controllers)
Need something simple.

I remember the article in Pro Mobile but my soldering skills leave a lot to be desired so never bothered trying to build the unit. Didn't look too difficult, though.

The Ryger Footlight controller is a decent piece of kit. It's only a chaser/sequencer, though. It's not DMX. It's great for lightboxes, par cans, etc.
