We can put this together as a package if you wanted a quote for a new system. Just drop us an email and I can link you to all the components.

How much weight does it need to hold James?

It needs to hold a wool surge star cloth Jamie.
Thanks everyone so far! :)

Why do you need winch stands for James - cloths aren't that heavy.

I just thought it would be easier and quicker.
Here is another option: http://www.djanddiscostuff.com/prodpage.asp?prodid=3367
However I only need 4m across.

That look useful. I know that Ultimax had a star cloth frame on show at BPM and it is supposed to be available soon. In fact I have emailed them to ask but haven't got a reply as yet...

Does anyone know if you can get the above that I linked to in a 4m format?

You don't need to, the cross piece is in 4 sections, so just use 3 of them and have a 250mm overhang either side, alternativley get the hacksaw out.

Surely that would make the stand unsafe?
The cross bars pass through T pieces so strength and stability wouldn't be affected.

A shout for the 'Pipe and Drape' system. Frightening easy / quick to install, no tools required, not even a hacksaw. However, the TDS712 horizontal support only spans to 12' when fully extended so approx. 30cm short of your 4m.
May be useful to get in touch and require a quote for a custom assembly?

For mounting a star cloth of 4m I would use 2 No. 2m steel scaffolding pipes from any local metal supplier and one of the following spigot connectors to join them. If done correctly you will find that you won't need a central supporting stand.
Hope this helps.

I looked at Pipe and drape system, however the prices were very high to say the least!!
Jamie - How would you attach the scaffold poles to a stand and what stands would you buy?
Thanks for everyones help! :)
