In an ideal world , we should try out things before we buy them , but that lovely new pair of speakers in the shop , sound great , but what do they sound like with your amp , your play out system , unless you bring your entire mobile to the shop :D , so where do you all test new equipment ?
I am lucky ., my local club lets me set up to test new gear any time I want , unless there is a pre booked event , I would hate to try out something new "live" as to say , ok certain items can be tested at home , laptops , smaller lights etc , but what about a pair of subs , cant really let them loose in a small house/flat , ( well you could :sj: )

I could and I did. :d

I did inform the neighbours before hand though, and told them it would be only for 10 minutes

One of my residencies has an upstairs function room that I am free to use whenever I like so on the odd occasion, I have taken a few bits up there to test out. Mainly lights though really.

Then I'd recommend a Korma in future, rather than a Phaal, or a Vindaloo. ;) ;) :D :D

Sound tests round here, no probs. As for testing anything live, if I have a gig in my local Social Club, that's an ideal place to test it.

I hire a room for storage which also doubles-up as a band rehearsal room, so it's big enough to set up lighting rigs, etc. and there's a PA constantly set up for the bands that is handy for practicing new karaoke tracks!

I'm lucky to have a large double garage which is perfect for testing.:)
