My records over the last few years seem to indicate that the end of October through to Christmas is usually a quiet time for enquiries and bookings, yet at the moment everything seems to be rather buoyant! Are you finding the same, or is it just a strange peak in my stats??

Asolutely mown down...December has got Nervous Breakdown written all over it.

This is not a Political Statement but it may be whats happening at Westminster has put the FeelGood Factor back in this Country.Somebody finally grasping the nettle....making fair(but unpopular with some)justifiable decisions to benefit the working public.....Take my hat off.;) ;) ;) ;)

Between now and Christmas I’ve got a similar number of bookings as last year.
I have found the number of enquiries is down and the enquiries I do get are short notice.

My christmas party bookings are thin on the ground now too.

2 years ago i had myself and one other lad out pretty much full time. This year im mamaging to juggle all my venues on my own. The venues just dont seem to be getting the numbers in....mind you its not as bad as last year with loads of cancellations.

Bookings up around 35% on last year so very busy. 2011 bookings gone through the roof. I think word is getting 'round about our competitive pricing structure for 2011. I like to think so. Rather than sit at home hoping the cuts won't have an effect, we've taken action to make sure they shouldn't. However, how many might cancel when Mr Camerons cuts begin to hurt is anyones guess???

Only if he has something to do with putting Wagner on top of a very sharp and large Christmas tree!!!

If you look at Tescos and Waitrose ( a year or two ago) you have the answer.

Waitrose are coming down in price to match Tesco--with a subsequent reduction in quality.

Now think Disco;)

Very quiet here as well in terms of getting jobs. There are some enquiries, but no one willing to pay for the service.

My point was....certain people are saying they are working 20 times a week and you have to wonder why really.

Maybe their reputation goes before them and they are brilliant. Maybe they are very cheap. Maybe a combination of both?

Stack it high, sell it cheap.

Very Positive.... :beer1: :beer1:

I think it is that combination. If people hear that you are good, legitimate, experienced professional,AND REASONABLY priced....you're going to get business(particularly in a recession). And if the people at the function can SEE that you are all of those things mentioned previously....you're going to get even more.....

Reputation (If its good) = repeat business in my eyes. ;) ;) ;)

Darren....you may have a bee in your bonnet about lower priced DJ's moving in on your patch....but it certainly isn't me......i'm too far away.I'm also not moving into the patch of a similair DJ in this area who charges the same as you(can't think of one anyway....can't get that round here DOH!!).I may have created my own market in versatile entertainment...Quizzes (were people may have been previously been playing Dominoes)...Childrens Parties(were people previously may have paid exorbitant prices at McDonalds) ....this gives me the right kind of exposure to land the Weddings and Birthdays that pay reasonably....:beer1: :beer1: :beer1:

And its not 20 times a week.....I've told you a MILLION times about you're exaggerating!!:D :D :D :D

LMAO.

You are a joker....

FYI, I don't have a bee in my bonnet about lower priced DJs. I mentioned one thing that had happened recently, that doesnt mean I have a bee in my bonnet.

Oh, and the day 'we are in then same market is the day I retire.;)
