Hi Jake,

First of all, please take some time to read this thread - http://www.forum.mobilediscodirectory.co.uk/showthread.php?t=11711

Regarding your question, the clues are in the names - a switch pack simply switches power outputs on and off so can be used with any appliance, a dimmer pack actually alters the voltage so should only be used with generic lights - pars, profiles etc. and could actually cause damage to something like a moving head.

For your lights, if you just want them to flash on and off etc. then you could use a switch pack, but if you actually want dimming control then get a dimmer. You can also get dimmer packs that you can set certain channels to act as a switch instead of a dimmer, so you get the best of both worlds.
