Equipment handy for future use.

I bought a behringer Xenyx1832fx that i use for the occasional karaokes and PA last year. Tbh its been used three times on a gig only.

But with the mixer comes a usb device called a UCA200 i knew i had it. But i didnt take much notice of it. But after looking in the mixer box i saw it again today and i thought i wonder if this device will be handy for something.

plugged it in and realised its an external usb soundcard.

Which could have potential of been extremely handy for a backup. As a backup to my hd2500 ive got a denon twin cd player and cds.

I have a laptop as a third backup i could use that UCA200 and the internal soundcard on the laptop so i can use 2 channels on my mixer for the laptop.
i could even use a laptop for music playback for an outdoor PA event.

Is there anything you have either bought acquired or got with something that you havent really took that much notice of and realised how handy it could be?

I have 2 of those soundcards. Obviously the sound quality isnt amazing but as you say for backup they would be very good.

what would the difference be between that and a jack audio out then?
Is this back up incase your laptop souncard breaks :confused:

I have had one for years and hardly use it now.

Oh - actually. The output from my Vestax vci is allot less than that when running it through a mixer.
If I ran it through this would it make it louder?

They would be good to use on a backup laptop as the quality will be better than most laptop onboard soundcards.

and you use it So you can use the laptop on 2 channels on the mixer.

This has now been tested in a gig situation. Simon hooked it up to his laptop and used it for a disco and said it was quite good.

Tbh im not entirely sure how often im going to use it. As it would be a third line of backup.
