I have truly got fed up of E-Bay as no matter how many times I complain about certain sellors they always return back to the site wether under another guise or with something new Im afraid we are fighting people whom the police should be dealing with

I think to just keep reporting dodgy stuff is all we can do and hope Ebay does something about it.

... at the very least, we can make life awkward for those selling them! (They have certainly removed at least one of the items we have reported)

I've just sent them a message asking is it the original or is it a copy (I KNOW, I KNOW! :) )

The reply was - " It's a back up copy" eeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrr what does that mean?

A back up to what!? If I've got the original, why would I want to BUY a back up, surely I could make a copy on my own computer (Oh my brain is starting to hurt  )I think I need to lie down in a dark room, all aone with my Des O'Connor sings the Sex Pistols album!

Its an old trick alot of sellers use.......At the end of the day they shouldnt be selling them even if they claim there "Backups". Real they are still copied discs which are against ebay policy.

Get em reported to Ebay.

every DJ who say they make "back up" copys of cds should be shot (verbaly) (at the moment)

I wouldn't quite say that - after all, that is one of the things that the LWP is fighting for (to allow DJs to make copies on any format for their own use), but anyone SELLING copies is a different matter!

I never knew that

...eg - copying a CD that they have legally purchased on to their hard drive to enable them to DJ via a computer, etc...... whatever the format, it's still copying. :)

does this include copying a original cd to another cd then using it in a public place? :)

& of course there would then be the option of making your own compilation CDs, no need to carry all those CDs that you only use 1 track on.

Indeed piracy is still piracy regardless of the format, this is in effect a 25000 track bootleg

If you own the original cd then surely theres nothing wrong with making backups for yourself.

That was not the case until recently when the BPI made a statement saying it was OK for personal not commercial use.
