Whatever you wish to know, ask on here. Somebody always knows the answer, and may warn you off buying unsuitable gear ( and heaven knows, there's plenty of unsuitable gear about. :( ). Often there can be kit for sale on here which may be of use to you.

Oh right you can find some excellent dj gear at NADJ events you don't have to be a member to go.

im not sure about how to set up a profile and easily look at your replies and posts

i need a media controller that plugs into the laptop
id prefer a rack mount one
but the only one i can find lately is the new denon one
which is out of my price range
can anyone suggest more suitable ones for me?
and where to get them?
