Slider replace or clean?

When I move my slider on my master channel on mixing desk the volumes goes erratic and if you tap mixing desk volume goes louder.
Does that mean I need to clean slider or replace it I have a KAM audio pro 1500 mixing desk.
I did try searching for this topic but not luck thanks in advance.

I had one once. Loved it. Features were first class, longevity was extremely poor. :( :( I'd try some proprieary cleaner first, and consider replacement if that doesn't work.

Yes i'm finding that out now had desk two years the citronic cd players are bearing well though!!!
Excuse my ignorance proprieary cleaner?
And how easy is it to replace the slider thanks again!!

google for switch cleaner provided the name I'd forgotten. Servisol. JP17T here

Crossfader replacement is always designed to be easy. The others aren't, sadly.

Edit: I meant to say Proprietary cleaner. It wasn't a make or description , it was a category.

I stripped a Citronic Predator mixer down the other day as the bass pots were causing a lot of crackle when turned. Sprayed the pots with Maplin Switch cleaner and hey presto they are like new. Now how do I put it back together?????
Just sprayed a moment ago, the push buttons on my answerphone as numbers 2 and 5 were not connecting everytime. They do now.
I don't but much at Maplin but their switch cleaner is good as is other makes.

Ok thanks hopefully spray will work if not i'll have to get someone to look at it, shouldn't think it needs replacing I reckon not been used over 100 times.

Just to update I sprayed some electrical contact cleaner on the slider seems to be working fine!!!
For now anyway!!

so waht do you reccomend then instead of servisol...?. Just interested as that what i have been using and the problem to be honest HAS got worse!!!!

Not as yet allthough keep it off yr panels
the red servicol was terrible at totally destroying 70s television fron panels!
