Howdy!

CV tonight & it's my first.

Gig log in the making too...you were warned. ;)

They want a proper "disco" from 70's to Lady Gaga.

Anything different that will go down well?

Doesn't even have to be different. I often forget some good cheese songs.

Really?

In my experience, same-sex wedding celebrations can be either flamboyant affairs, contemporary and sophisticated or very traditional.

Been to a lot as a guest then? :D

Any reason why you're leaving it with only a few hours to prep for this?

I did a gay engagement a few weeks ago. Great guys and guests, and to be honest their music requests (that we covered before the gig) were basically a normal party mix of 70s/80s/90s/Chart

So - just treat it as any other night.

I've also been a guest at a few civil ceremonies, and again, its normally a family party. If they wanted anything specific, it would have been covered before the gig, and if not, they'll let you know tonight...

I don't desperately need help but thought I'd generate a few ideas beforehand as I'm doing a gig log.

No biggy. I'm treating it like a Wedding or any other gig. :)

I've just realised, shockingly, that since I shifted from vinyl two years ago, I haven't got Everybody Dance anymore!!!

Indeed, Best Disco In Town was a bit of fun on my part, I doubt I would ever play it, but I would have no issues playing Brothers Johnson - Stomp, great track IMHO.

Dunno if I'm being thick but isn't asking for suggestions for music a matter of hours before the event leaving a bit late & shouldn't you really be asking the client what they want, rater than second guessing them?
