I'm a bit concerned that an 8U/2U slope/slanted rack case may not be quite deep enough for the Denon DNX500.
Does anyone happily use a 2U deep slanted rack case with the DNX500?

Yes, but you only get 1U of useable space on the bottom.
Edit, the picture here shows it better http://www.forum.mobilediscodirectory.co.uk/showthread.php?t=26995 Ive now got a 1U single CD player in the bottom, but didnt have it when the picture was taken.
As you can see you should have 2U of space and then the "proper" blanking plate (which is 2U )
Incidentally, (if i remember rightly) if the first 2U/3U on the top slope is used for your controller then that pushed the mixer back far enough to fit ok.

So if I want to put a 3U Controller in the same box I must get a 10U one?
edit: Sorry - you mean the underneath rather than the rest of the rack - so a HD or Keyboard would be OK but nothing else

Thanks - I've got a Numark DDS controller (3U) and a denon DNX500 - just want room for those bits and a USB HD with the mini Numark keyboard all in the same box.
(P.S. its just the DDS controller- like the D2 director, not the DDS-80 which requires more space)

On the top slope if you have the DDS first then the mixer, you should get the full 2U of space in the fromt. That said. It doesnt matter if you have the keyboard on a 1U sliding shelf that you can just pull out. :)

Thanks Steve - so the higher up it goes the more space I get - 2U if it goes Mixer/DDS and 1U the other way round. (That’s great - i thought it would just about go in, so obviously there's more room than i worked out - and its only a bit deeper than other 19" mixers)

I use one with the 2u clearance space and its absolutely fine. My mixer is an
x500 with a hd2500.
