Im back to tell the tale.

Today i had a wedding down at the royal hotel Due to snow problems i couldnt get the box trailer out. Plus it would be too dangerous taking it. So my mothers friend lent her the van. only a little citroen berlingo but we got everythng in at a push.

Walked a mile to my mothers friends florist with my mother in the snow. She works there as a delivery driver The van was stuck in as well so it took about 3 hours to get the van out of the snow.
got it back and my mother couldnt find a parking place anywhere near the house about 40 doors away.

getting closer to the time we had to carry the gear down the street to get it in the van. I arrived at the venue for half past 3 for a 7:30pm start.

got setup just in time despite waiting for a little while the wedding was in the room having their meal. Everyone enjoyed it including the bride and groom. There was less than 20 people there because of the weather conditions.

In the end i could leave the gear there the duty manager was fine with that. As queen say in their song...... THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!

We left the gear at the hotel last and My mother left the van in the hotel car park because she didn't want to risk smashing her friends van up because of the road conditions. we had to take the risk on the way there.

So my mother got a taxi back home and my roadie Jason arrived in a taxi soon after so we could unload the van and get the kit into the hotel.

Part 2 of the Tale

Got a taxi back to the hotel this morning for 8:30am because the gear needed to be out early because they have another wedding today.

Get into the hotel go down to the Windsor Suite in the basement to get the gear. One of the hotels lifts it out of service at the moment.

So from 0-1 level (basement) up to level 3 back down to level 1,2 for guests to jump in the lift. Couldn't stop the doors closing quick enough so up goes the lift with gear to the third floor come back down to Level 0 with the kit and 4 guests in the lift also. So because I was moving the gear on my own and my mother was outside bringing the van back round and warming the engine up.

The trek back. look down the street for a parking place near the house and couldn't get one even at the end of the street. We have a ten foot at the back of the house. So it was the only way Ten foot the snow about 2 foot deep so. Out comes the shovel having to shovel the way from the ten-foot gates to the back gate. There was another task clearing it. Took the van back to my mothers friends florist and walked a mile back.

Job done.
