Yup it's working!

I've found enquires have dropped significantly.

I'm hoping they will pick up Januray/Febuary.

I'll be sending out my new flyers via UK bride. Worth a pop?

Your website may be working pal, but your search engine placement isnt!

I searched "mobile disco deryshire".....and gave up after the 5th page, after still not finding your site.

Even searching "abstract entertainments derbyshire" wasnt that enlightening. You came up on the top of google maps, but even with that search, your organic listing was 8th

This is what i started this thread for,

I thankyou for checking mate and any ideas of hopefully getting it up would be greatfull.

I'm seriously in two minds what to do now as i've tried my hardest to do what i can to promote the business and obviously something isn't working.

Serious thinking will be happening in the next couple of weeks.....

Thankyou again for looking and checking :)

Think outside the box Dave.

That's what I'm starting to do. Everyone seems to be having flash websites now - especially on the forum.

What can you do, that's different, that others aren't? I'm not saying websites and flyers don't work - because they do, but there are other things too. ;)

Dave has to be practical though Martin.

He doesn't drive so has to pay for his transport.

This is the one of the very reasons I paid for a professional to do my site. I think I was pretty much on top of google within 2 weeks of it going live and just in time for xmas enquiries and early weddings next year.

I'll apologise in advance for this one.

Sorry Martin this really does go to show just how truly clueless you are when it comes to marketing.

Don't want to alarm you, but 2 weeks into the site going live could mean you are still in Google's "honeymoon" period, where your site will be ranking artificially higher than where it will eventually settle.

The lady I do the chocolate fountains with paid someone £150 to do all the seo on her site...she is now on the first page for most search phrases.

It's a thought?

Bit of a strange comment when you weren't party to the specification?

Whilst it may have just been a bit of tag tweaking, it could also have been a virtual rewrite. The site may have had one page, or several hundred... You have no idea how badly ranked the previous site was - maybe it was stuffed with hundreds of duff reputation-busting backlinks, or maybe it didn't have any...

Agreed there are lots of cowboy SEO merchants out there, but I don't think you can draw such conclusions without full knowledge of the 'before' and 'after'. There are SO many variables that £150 might have actually been a bargain for all you know.

... said site or work has nothing to do with me, by the way :p

:agree:

I wouldn't pay someone £150 to do SEO on a site, because I can do it myself. On the other hand I would (generally) charge a hell of a lot more than £150 to do SEO work on a clien't site.

So £150 might have been a bargain, depending on what was done and what the SERPS improvements are (and if they'll last). At the end of the day all that matters is if she's happy with what she got for her money.
