Rcf problem

I have a problem with one of my rcf 310a speakers.
I set up last night and the sound was distorted kind of muffly.
Tried it later on and only moved the volume slightly from the off position and the speaker went very loud compared to the other Rcf.
I tried different xlr leads but still the same.
Could it be a loose lead on the xlr chassis.
Can anyone help thanx shaun

This is a guess, ( though based on a likely scenario). Have you tried working the volume control vigorously with the cab switched off? It may be a spot of oxidation on the contacts, and working it vigorously may clean it. Switch cleaner might also be worth trying.

See if you can get a tin of DEOXIT from Russ Andrews (google them) . DEOXIT is great stuff , I bet you wont buy any speaker wire from Russ Andrews though.............
