Hi there,

You will find people are more willing to help and reply if they know something about you.

Why not pop over to the newbies section and introduce yourself? http://www.forum.mobilediscodirectory.co.uk/showthread.php?t=11711

If you take the time to introduce yourself, who you are, what you do, etc to the membership, and join in the forum a bit, you may have a better chance of attracting some of the experienced, quality DJs on here.

However, if you're just here to post your advert and disappear, then I suspect that most of the replies you will get will be from less experienced, etc

Never heard of you.

Are you sure about the leading part?

Might also be worth mentioning where your based and where the DJ would have to travel, to take place in the auditions it mentions on your website :)

Thats one of a number :D

The main man is Ben Rogers, and from what I can see, not wanted by Interpol, MI5, MI6, CIA, NSA, FSB or Mothercare, so might be useful to someone.

Give “Dennis’ mobile DJ hire” the boot it says. I love to know what's Dennis did wrong?

Perhaps he doesn't work through an agency so he keeps his prices low.

Maybe he's not shipped in from afar and he knows the local area well and knows what people like and don't like (send a DJ to Glasgow and play 'Simply the Best' to find out what I mean).

"our range of young, talented, stylish DJs" - that suggests older DJ's are no good (far from the truth)

These sickly websites really hack me off.

I've merged your 2 identical threads.

Would you now please do as requested by one of our moderators & introduce yourself in the Newbies section of the forum. :HappySteve:

You'll find folks are a lot friendlier once they know a little bit about you.

You'll also find that posting the same thing over & over will do nothing other than annoy site staff.http://undergroundfreakz.com/s/contrib/scorchio/saevil.gif:sj:

The bit that gets me is "must be able to beat match". For a function DJ? Beat-matching ability is good but I wouldn't say's it's essential for the markets we cover as mobile DJs.

Hi guys...

Thank you for all your feedback and yes, I should have introduced myself properly in the newbie section. Will nip over there in a bit and do just that.

Just to clarify a few points:

earcandy is a young company who up until now have been specialising in live entertainment. Clients are always requesting for DJs so this is an area we want to seriously explore further in the new year.

We take a very personal approach with all of our musicians and would hope to have a similar relationship with our DJs too. If you are interested in working with us please do get in touch, I can assure you there is nothing dodgy about us! And any further feedback is always welcomed.

All the best, Lisa

I have a couple of questions on behalf of our members regarding items mentioned on your site:-

We don’t drag in part-time band members or guys who DJ on the weekends. So that means that none of our part-time members need apply then?

Give “Dennis’ mobile DJ hire” the boot, our range of young...What is your age limit for DJs (both upper and lower age limits)?

I also read something else when I looked a few days ago, but I cannot find it now. It said something about not booking the same old/tired artists/bands/DJs that have been around for the last 25 years, or something like that. Now, this question may be negated by your reply to the last question, but how much experience do you consider too much that tips someone over the edge in to the tired/boring category?

We're all doomed!!!!!!! I think I can fit into 3 the part time, nearly 40 (too old), and been in the business 25 years, I'll take my P45 now then?

Look - there's absolutely no need whatsoever to be rude!

...and, quite frankly, suggesting that any young(er) DJ who can beat-mix is an Ali-G-type boy racer is insulting quite a number of the members of here too!

If this agency is specialising in providing a particular type of DJ, then that's up to them. Whether or not you/I/we would consider some of their criteria misguided, is really by-the-by.

I would just like them to clarify who/what they are after to save many of our members wasting their time and the agency's.

However, some others may find this extremely useful.

Why? :confused:Have you actually read this thread, Charlie?

Errrr, Charlie. Lisa appears to need younger DJ's, possibly like yourself. Like myself, when Steve goes to the bar to order a half of Shandy, he is unlikely to be asked to provide proof that he's over 18. ;) Are you with me now?

Peter: I think what Charlie is trying to say is that, since earcandy have now stated that they do not require DJs to have beat-matching abilities (despite what they posted), and they haven't yet answered the questions earlier in this thread, that maybe they did not mean 'young' (or full-time) either :)

funkymook

Once I had been on their site and saw the bands they have on their books I thought the 'young beat matching' criteria was probably not set in stone (and further comments have confirmed this). So I thought it was worth getting in touch with them, so far have been replied to in a timely and professional manner.
