Why do people who use records talk about their 'vinyls'.

It was never vinyls, it was always vinyl, even in the plural.

What is happening to our language?

What is happening to our language?Agree completely: we're all guilty of a bit of slang, etc and we all make the odd grammatical slip here and there, but there is a time and a place for everything and I have to admit that I'm getting fed up with people who just seem totally incapable of using the English language correctly in any situation whatsoever. :mad: .... and whatever you do, don't get me started on manners either! (Rant over...... FOR NOW! :omg: )

Indeed, aged DJs may speak of their "vinyls" in the same way they speak of their dentures and their specs......


















....but us young cool dudes speak of our "twelves", "slates", "whites", "dub plates"...

I think i can quite honestly say ive never called them slates, twelves or whites
and ive never in my life heard of 'dub plates'

maybe 'young' refers to people under 20 lol ;)

Crikey you'd never lift those ADDA cases, of which I have some in the loft (which was painful). Yes never referred to a vinlyS as far as I'm aware, usually records or vinyl...

I pride myself on my exselent spellin and grammer. Innit.
