Cold RCF'S?

Hi I have a pair of Art725A's which are working fine . I have noticed recently that the limiter led is staying on for about 5 minutes after I switch them on. It eventually gets dimmer and dimmer and then goes out , but still then operates as normal. The speakers still work fine but I was wondering would this be caused be condensation in the cabinets?

It may be due to condensation. I'm not familiar with the RCF's (have you read the manual?), but some kit does detect condenstation.

I try to get the speakers (active) and playback unloaded first, and power it up last when its been in the back of the van for a long trip. The gear is stored in my house, so short trips are fine (where they don't have time to cool down too much)

Yeah , Jason I've started keeping these in the house rather than the van when its too cold , we were down to minus 15c and going into blazing hot venues was not good and I was panicing a bit with all the condensation form on the speakers etc , the displays on my card players were acting up as well.

There are ways to help the condensation issue (conformal coating the PCB's helps, but does add to production cost).

LCDs are very temperature sensitive, so 100% try to store the gear in the house when its that cold. Most gear will be ok stored to 0C, but if you can get away with keeping it indoors, the gear will thank you! (I've found a large black cloth works wonders with hiding it in the lounge! lol)
