OK guys Its back and again ITS FREE I have decided upon using the Daily Mails version as ITS FREE anyone wishing to follow the Suns one will have to pay for it

http://fantasyleague.mailonline.co.uk/Index.aspx

We all like to think we can be the manager...now this is your chance to play the biggest FREE fantasy football game in Britain. There's £50,000 in cash to be won including monthly cash prizes (http://fantasyleague.mailonline.co.uk/Article.aspx?id=201). And remember there's absolutely no subscription fee to pay. You can even win £100,000 before the season starts if you register a team before August 16th and it matches our randomly selected team of eleven players.

sign up your team and the join the MDA Premiership challenge
private league pin No 2441

And to top it off £50,000 could be won

the rules are easy and clear maximum of 25 transfers in 1 season, 5 a month maximum

Transfers

http://images.fantasyleague.com/fast/prem0607/dailymail/ballack.jpg
If your team isn't performing as you would like, it's easy to make changes. Prior to the start of the season, you can make unlimited changes to your team. Once the season is underway you can make up to a maximum of 25 for the season but with no more than 5 transfers within any one calendar month. Any unused transfers don’t get carried over to a subsequent month.

Transfers can be made at anytime but in order for a player to be eligible for points in a particular match, he must be transferred in before that match kicks off. Otherwise he will only be eligible for any subsequent matches.

points scoring as below

Points Scoring

Points are awarded based on the Premiership matches played during the 2006/07 season which kicks off on Saturday 19 August at 12:45 BST and continues until 13 May 2007. Points are awarded as follows:

EventPointsDetailsGoal3(each goal scored)Assist2(see below for definition)Goalkeeper/Defender Appearance1(must play 45 mins or more)Goalkeeper/Defender Clean Sheet3(must play 75 mins or more, inc. 1pt for appearance)Goalkeeper/Defender Goal Against-1(each goal scored against)
Goals: Goals are those officially attributed by the Press Association (PA). Mail online and/or Fantasy League will not overrule this source in any circumstances. Mail online and/or Fantasy League can amend only goals that are overruled by PA within 24 hours of the relevant football match.

Assists: Assists are awarded to the player who makes the last pass before a goal is scored. However, if the last touch before a goal is scored is by an opposing player and it significantly alters the speed or direction of the ball, then no assist is given. There is no assist given to a player earning a direct free kick if a goal arises directly from it.

When the last touch before a goal is scored does not significantly alter the speed or direction of the ball, two separate assists are given - one for each of the players setting up the goal. This typically occurs from flick-on headers - a common result of corner kicks, long throws and goal kicks.

When a penalty is awarded, the player fouled earns an assist if the penalty is subsequently converted. If the penalty is for a handball on a goal-bound shot - which has already passed the goalkeeper - then the player taking the shot is awarded the assist. If the player earning the assist scores the penalty no assist is given. If a goalkeeper parries a penalty and the penalty taker scores from the rebound then any assist given remains. If a different player converts the rebound then the penalty taker gets the assist.

Goalkeeper/Defender Appearance points: Appearance points are awarded to any goalkeeper or defender who is on the pitch for at least 45 minutes - including injury time. Goalkeepers and defenders who appear in only part of a game will lose one point per goal conceded while they are on the pitch. Accordingly, a goalkeeper or defender who completes a game and concedes one goal will score no points. A goalkeeper or defender who completes thirty minutes of a game and concedes one goal will be deducted one point.

If a goalkeeper or defender completes 75 minutes or more of a game before he is substituted - and no goals are conceded whilst he's on the pitch - then that goalkeeper or defender will be awarded two extra points for a clean sheet.

Goalkeepers and defenders receiving red cards will lose points after they are sent off. If a goalkeeper or defender is sent off and his team concedes goals after his dismissal, he continues to lose the points that his teammates do. If the goalkeeper / defender is sent off and his team keep a clean sheet then, as previously, he keeps the points as at the time he was sent off.

The decision of Fantasy League and/or Mail Online will be final on all these matters.

Get on board Now Get yourself a sponsor as well and for every point scored raise money for CHILDREN IN NEED Yyour sponsor could match you point for point in Pounds Imagine how much you could raise I raised ove £400 for it during the world cup.....

Yes it is. Currently on Sky Sports 1 now, with kick off at 12:45 i think.

I will commentate on Premiership games..just as long as they are televised live, and not show on the highlights at 10:30 on MOTD 1/2.

I didn't know my dad had done a team and entered in the MDA league. I doubt he'll win though, but good for the "family rivalry" that we have.

Good luck with you're teams guys on this the first day of the Premiership season.

I wouldn't say this year, but if the proposed take-over does take place, and the consortium keep their promise about giving Roeder "substantial" funds to work with in the transfer market, then i don't see a reason why you couldn't mount a serious title bid :)

Its a shame the Glazers haven't kept fully to their promise of giving Sir Alex the funds that they stated...but then again, we are over £600m in debt :omg: so perhaps the reason why :teeth:

Obafemi Martins is a quality player and will be an excellent addition to Glen Roeder's squad. Hopefully, he'll provide the goals this season for you after Michael Owen's injury lay-off. I still think that you were unfortunate to miss out on Dirk Kuyt to Liverpool, but i feel you might have been better suited with World Cup golden boot winner Miroslav Klose.

Just reading Sky Sports News, and looks like your "star" defender Jean Alain Boumsong has joined Serie B side Juventus for £3.3m. A good bit of business i feel, although you did make a loss on him.

Aparantly, and this is good for a Man Utd fan such as myself, that the news coming out of OT this morning was that Carlos Tevez has sensationally claimed that he wants a move to the Premiership after falling out of favor with his boss at Corinthians. I reckon a £25m offer is imminent...lets hope Glazer coughs up the cash.

However, i think the Hargreaves situation is "dead in the water" as Bayern are resisting his requests for a move, and could report us to Fifa if we persist with out attempts to prise him away from Bayern

There is also news coming out of Arsenal that Arsene Wenger has tabled an undisclosed offer for Chelsea rebel William Gallas. This suggests that Chelsea's interest in Ashley Cole has cooled as they have just signed a left back from Hamburg in Khalid Boulahrouz.

That should bring you up-to-date with current transfer affairs :teeth:

Yeah, let's all have a dig at Reading, even though we won the championship with only 2 losses, a record amount of points and goals, and have only played one game in the Premiership, which we won 3-2.

Perhaps more of you should support the local teams to you?

At least we're allowed there, and play with decent teams...

Perhaps you should watch them play before following the rest of the sheep? :teeth:

Excuse me, but mixing it up with the top 16 clubs in Europe, as we did last season, might just qualify as playing with decent teams ;)

Anyway, as I said in the other thread, I think you will stay up. Just.

But, let's be honest, you were only there by default...

The top two teams get Champions League spots in Scotland, yes?

And how many 'decent' sides would you say there were?

Not a great deal of competition. :teeth:

What?!?! :omg:

No!!

This year, the top team (Celtic  ) got automatic group stages entry, only because of our success last season! Normally even the the league winners have to play at least one qualifying round, to even get into the group stages.

And that's to just get into the group stages. We qualified from the group stages, and only went out to Villareal on away goals - and it should be mentioned that we had the better of them, and on another day we would have gone through!

Coupled with Celtic's UEFA cup final a few years back, I think you'll agree we can play with the 'decent' teams :)

1. How on earth Middlesborough got there is beyond me - lucky doesn't even begin to explain! Here's hoping Mr McClaren doesn't carry that luck from club to international coaching ;)

There is always an element of luck in scrappy goals, although obviously it isn't 'lucky' to score 3 goals. Make no mistake of it, there is a long, hard season ahead of you! :)

That should bring you up-to-date with current transfer affairs :teeth:

thank god boumsong is gonna go what a load of poo poo :)

yeah we couldnt have klose we were told to stop asking for him lol :teeth:

owen might be back for 2032 if where lucky lol and we will still pay him £120k a week for sitting on his arse!!!! (am i allowed to put arse?) :embarasse

the powers of roeder are amazing though thats why we are in will a chance of being in the top 5 at least!!

I'd have to say that the Reading comeback was one of the highlights of the opening weekend. I for one, never expected a Reading win, but more of a draw to be honest. How wrong i was! During the last 5 or so minutes of the first half, something seemed to "click" for Reading, and as a result, Middlesbrough didn't know what hit them! I feel that they rather under estimated Reading, and it did cost them!

I feel (and im not going overboard here) that Reading will be the "surprise" package of the Premiership this season.

Watford, i feel, will need more than a top keeper loaned to them by the mighty reds to keep them up (Ben Foster if anyone is wondering).

Sheffield Utd are better equipped shall we say than Watford and i reckon will finish outside the bottom 3!

Reading are also better prepared this season, and have bought in some good players to help stengthen their current squad. Lets hope Mr Madejski gets his checkbook out for Steve Coppell between now and the 31st August! I feel that with the managerial skills of Coppell, couped together with good coaching staff and fans, i reckon they'll finish above 15th, ensuring a Premiership stay for the next season!

Here is the latest paper talk regarding transfers, and if the Daily Star are right, Portsmouth are ready to hijack Newcastle's move for Inter Milan striker Obafemi Martins :omg:

Also, there are more revelations on the Owen Hargreaves front...and it certainly looks like the sparks will be flying later this afternoon! Hargreaves is aparantly going to hold a news-conference today in order to explain why he wants to leave. Hopefully, Bayern will get the message loud and clear, allowing him to sign for us for a reported £17m :teeth:

I don't really know what's happening tbh Ags.

In the local rag, it's full of inteviews with Sidwell, with him saying he wants to stay and loves Reading etc, but you never know.

I think if he does go, he wants to be going to a much bigger club and not the likes of Middlesbrough, Fulham etc.

Possibly good news Daz :)

Reading have completed the signing of former Aston Villa defender, "Useless" De La Cruz on a free transfer, as he was released by Villa at the end of last season. IMO, he had a good World Cup with Ecuador, and as a result, i think he will be a useful addition to your current squad.

Yes, that was the case that has been stated on the BBC Sport website :)

He hasn't played domestically for some time, and showed that in the World Cup, even though he did play well. He isn't fit enough yet to appear for his new club, and hasn't travelled with the his new team mates to the JJB Stadium to face Wigan tomorrow.

I forgot to mention that he has signed a one-year deal at the Madejski Stadium

Nothing else really to report on the transfer front, apart from Carlos Tevez's agent has confirmed that he is nearing a move to the Premiership. Im guessing that he'll got to Chelsea...but i do hope Malcom Glazer gets his cheque-book out and gives Sir Alex in the region of £20m-£25m to bring him to the north-west.

Aparantly, Rennes have contacted Chelsea to ask if they can have him on a season-long loan if they do sign him from Corinthians.

As for Owen Hargreaves, the situation is still unclear as Sir Alex has said that he is awaiting response from Bayern Munich regarding the situation, and Bayern have said that United have stopped their activities

Well done to the dragonfly Dynamos no if we had set the money aside at £1 per point we could have all raised for charity at total of £4210.00 for a charity of our choice (mine was children in need) and I have already had this doubled by a local sponsor at total of £386

Lets see next year if I could get the whole thing co-ordinated properly LOL I will be using the Sun Dream Team system with no transfers allowed just choose your team of 11 players and let them play. I will announce the league next season so watch the transfer market this summer season
