Hey Guys,

Returning to DJing after a 1-year hiatus, this forum seemed to provide all the answers I was looking for to get me back up to scratch on things.

My names Matthew, 23 from Northumberland.

I started DJing 10 years ago, my dad had his own disco company in the late 70's/early 80's and I was brought up listening to all his old 45's and stories of his 'Burman' PA and 'Helicopter' lights. Started off small (as you do) with a donated PA system and some small lighting effects, and gradually built upon this to form a fair and respectable show.

By the end of 2009 my heart wasn't in it any more, my rig was too big to transport in my car (serves me right for buying daft speakers and truss!) and with debt looming over my shoulder, I thought it would be best to sell up.

The PA system stayed, however the lights (with the exception of my iSolution IS4's), CDJ's and stands went the journey. Now, approaching the end of the year I'm realizing what a big mistake it was, so time to start a new and build up my reputation again in 2011!

Although still in the early stages of drawing up a business plan, I hope to be out gigging again by February (normally a quiet month, but i'm optimistic!)

Equipment wise, I'll be running a PCDJ system with DAC-2, Numark mixer, Crown Amp, Peavey UL-15's, two iSolution IS4's, CD player for backup.

My shopping list for January includes a Deck Stand + Curtain, Centerpiece lighting effect and a smoke machine (this is where you lot come in!)

Cheers!
Matty
