We are looking for someone to design a new site for our company in Joomla.

Budget up to £500. Approx 8 - 10 pages and may incorporate some features of Dj Event planner.

I can sort of navigate in the back end of Joomla and add articles etc.

It's just the template and buttons etc. If someone could even get the template designed I'm sure I could add content etc

Yep - Alex is a great guy, he helped get me through the Joomla Jargon for my website over the phone, and I was then mainly able to do it myself.

He also knows quite a bit about DJEP, so apart from being a Joomla wizz, is the right person to chat to for DJEP integration.

That's great - I can get round the back end of Joomla (just), maybe a case of someone designing me a template and I can add articles then will need help adding the Dj event planner bits.

Alex is also an advertiser on this site and has his own sub-forum in the advertisers section.

I know he's got links in there to other work of his :)

I agree Joomla is very easy, as our website has been redeveloped in Joomla by myself. Simple, not much technical requirements Apache & MySQL database it can be loaded to start creating content for your site.

The hardest bits of joomla is

1. Development of your own customer template
2. Building up the site from scratch

Always recommend joomla as it takes out the requirement for developer to maintain the site.

Our is Joomla and template was developed by me. TBH finding a template that almost meets your needs is the best way then editing it is easy to match your logo & styling.

For example our site is the template i found with my logo / header at the top and a component for the images.

If i wanted to spend some time matching it to our branding I could with ease through photoshop.

Happy to offer any help if needed.

Tom
PS Joomla is also part of my day job

Thanks for the offer of help Tom - you may regret saying that :)

I've got the software Artisteer - it's quite good for making Joomla templates and importing into Joomla. I can do this ok. I know there are some other good tutorials and YouTube videos about with all other aspects of doing things in Joomla.

I will be having a lazy day today (dose of man flu) so might have a play about.

Tom did set some of the free hosing up for Joomla with his hosting company.

I can see an no-advertisement wrap round the hand in a minute :)

Where is alex anyway I have not heard from him for some time?
Obviously not online as he would have jumped on this post.

Fine line here - but, as there's been no mention of a commercial arrangement... just an offer of help, there would appear to be no issue at present. :)
