First of all thanks to everyone who takes the time to reply to these posts its a lot of the same names but none the less appreciated !!
this site really is a mine of great info and valuable contacts ....
now down to business!
my website gets quite a bit of traffic, but im not sure what impression people get from it ? my family are all very nice in goin "aww well done you did that yourself, excellent & good luck" but i would like some impartial words from people who work in the industry !
muchos gracias

I think the front page looks great.
Don't like the business card (mirror ball and speaker) image on the other pages, think some colour photos (even stock ones) would be nicer.
Not too sure about the gallery, don't like the navigating away from your site (you've got 'em, so keep' em there). I wouldn't be too happy having all my photos available for everyone to view like that that, but select a few choice ones and have a gallery on your site.
Some of the words could be tweaked, I quickly rewrote the first paragraph (though it could still be tweaked a bit more):
Revolution Discos are proud to have over 30 years combined experience in the entertainment industry.
We are available for all functions including Weddings, Christenings and Birthday parties.
When you book with Revolution Discos you can be sure your event will be in the best possible hands.
I think it's better to refer to 'your' event rather than 'their' event - makes it a bit more personal. :)

I've had a look and, not that i'm an expert, it looks good!
I checked it out on a Mac using Safari and all seems OK.
Contact us on functions page just goes back to home page though.
With the why choose us, i prefer to state my selling points, not state why you shouldn't use someone else. Sell on what you offer, why isn't this an easy way for you to make money?
Get some photos on your own site rather than having to link elsewhere.
what's the "last night a dj saved my life about"? seems to really slow the page in loading. Also look at splitting your phone numbers to make it easier to read.
Looking behind the scenes, there doesn't seem to be any SEO going on (or maybe i'm missing it!).
Good effort, just put some photos on the site!
Hope this helps
Steve.

again many thanks all help more than welcome !
i will have a look at the pics and logos to be completely honest iv been promising a revamp to my business partner for weeks...
and as for the photo gallery the only way i could have a nice fancy gallery like that was to have a seperate page - the response for which has been fairly good, see iwas toying with the idea of selling keyrings at my gigs but i opted for nipping round with my nikon and bobbing the pics on a disc for the person whose event it is and that costs them a little extra, then with their permission i use a few on the website that their guests can view and hand out cards on the night with the address on to view them ! it brings great traffic to the site and enquiries too

The 'Why Choose Us' page - it's veering heavily towards negative marketing - putting down others rather than building yourself up. A confident company doesn't need to mention their rivals at all. 'Why Choose Us' should be full of how great you are, what you can offer, your USP.

More than happy to give any changes you make the once over - as I'm sure others on the forum are as well.

Don't like the layout, the menu should be centered in my opinion.
You have used different sized fonts throughout the site which seem to get bigger and bigger as you go along.
The header looks stretched as well, but they may just be me.
Also, what's with the business card just put on the two pages?

Vectis ???

Just slightly.
I'm a web developer and spend far too much of my time chasing down plagiarists. Copying content from someone's website is akin to walking into a shop and helping yourself to whatever takes your fancy.
be sure that the situation will be rectified asap :(
Better be ASAP enough that the rights owners don't catch up with you otherwise it could be an expensive mistake... ;)
please accept my apology

So, think about this.
A week after you pass your driving test, you are caught for speeding on a road that you thought was a 40 mph limit and it turns out it's a 30 mph limit.
Your defence? I've only been driving a week and it was a mistake.

But if the rights owner happens to run a Copyscape scan (or any equivalent) then someone else might.

It's good to see that you've taken on board the comments. At the end of the day all we're trying to do is help you onto the right track as it could potentially get you in a lot of trouble if the copyright owners found out. Once you sort it then no harm no foul. :)

"We at Revolution disco pride ourselves in having over 30 years combined experience in the entertainment industry"
That's a bit of a leading statement! You don't actually say how many of you there are that contribute to the 30 years, so could be 2 of you with 15years or even 1 years experience 30 times, and of course if you work together, its the same experience anyway! Seems a bit strange a 25 year old with 30 years experience.

Stick around for some great advice. It's a good laugh on here too. Once you've removed it from your site - everything will be fine. Although it's wrong, I respect you for telling the truth. ;)

to be completely honest it wasnt even supposed to be anything to do with me, my father in law bought a load of new gear and then started gigging again i started helping him just by going and setting up then i got roped into it..
iv been doing clubs for about 7 years now with a few private gigs inbetween !
but albeit i said id help so thats what im trying to do, initially it was just untill he'd gained back his initiall expendature but as time went on i started doing more and more and he offered me to be his partner.
Im by no means a computer expert (facebook & youtube being about the main diet of my internet time lol) so i did what i could, now as i stated in previous posts the reason i asked for feedback wasnt for praise it was for suggestions.
so I am in the process of redesigning the site
thanks for all feedback

SEO = Search Engine Optimisation. Over simplified version = You write it into your web source coding and Google likes it (and what's on the site) and you're No.1 on Google listings!
It's a sort of voodoo that web gurus do that helps your site ranking on Google.
Don't copy anything, look, apply to your own set up situation and re-write. Copyscape is an easy tool that searches the web and compares your site content to anything else on the web. Copying then becomes obvious and you get a whole heap of trouble!

I did, to an extent, and developed my fist few web sites. Then i got wise and found a certain person on the Isle of Wight (Vectis) who does a much better job, in way less than half the time it used to take me, with much better results!
Best advice is get an expert to do it!

Just to be nosey I ran copyscape on our disco website and found several DJs in Andover area to have stolen content from us!
One was a listing on UK-disco and they have pulled it straight away. Another is on Mobile DJ Online who haven't yet come back to me.
The 3rd is on a US based free website making site so that may take some time.
I wouldn't mind but the language and grammar used on our site is completely different to the rest of the content on theirs?!
These things are sent to test us.....
