Is anyone staying up to watch the Ashes, I love most sport (having been brought up in a sporty family) and I have been staying up every morning till lunch in the test (half one). The Aussies looked to be really clutching at straws with the Cook appeal when he was on 99 but then Ian Bell snicks one and doesn't walk, so are cricketers getting like footballers.
What are your thoughts?

I'm staying up, as usual, but I have paperwork and other things to sort out, plus I think cricket is like watching paint dry, the only two sports I will watch are Rugby and Ice Hockey.

You can all laugh at me now, when i used to play Rugby, I was the Hooker... :eek: :D :D

P.S. Nice to have another DJ'ess ;) :D

I've watched every Test so far, but cleared off to bed at lunch yesterday and will do tonight - massive exams yesterday and today.

As a squad, England have been outstanding. The only player not to have performed in his role is Paul Collingwood.

I disagree about not performing in his role as his fielding and catching has been outstanding and he also got Mr Cricket out in the 1st innings but his batting has been poor, overall as a team player though he has been good.
Also he has announced his retirement from test cricket.

Ha! I agree...even typed something about his fielding but then deleted it. What I would say is that taking Hussey's wicket doesn't compensate for his contribution with the bat.

Looking forward to watching tonight....hopefully I'll be in bed by 1am!
