Err...
DJ Sunday is full of DJs wearing black bomber jackets with their logo on the back, carrying round plastic bags with as many free catalogues and lanyards as they can find.... :teeth:
DJ Sunday is slightly more relevant to us and I found that a couple of years ago, when I went on a Wednesday, that quite a few of the companies that were relevant to us had gone.
I generally go because,
A. I like to see new products and chatting to the manufacturers.
B. I get a free ticket! :teeth:

No - because I don't want to waste a free ticket! We haven't decided for sure yet - we would like to, but in all honesty I probably wouldn't bother unless there is a 'social' element to it as well as the show. I don't want to say "Gimme gimme gimme freebie" and then let it go to waste :teeth:

so, what was everyone's verdict on Plasa 2006?
For me, VOID stole the show and it was great to meet and chat with Rog.
I spent an hour or so in Tony Andrews' demo room, then moved down the corridor to Void, and I have to say the Stasys 8 & Stasys 3 MkII stacks just ****ed all over the legendary F218s and Res4 combination (with less boxes too)
I'm sure Mr Whitehouse will be in agreement :teeth:

Jamie, how do 12 looneys A/B against 6 Stasys 8s ?
Both systems are using 12 x V18-1000s, I guess the Looneys go a little lower than the S8s, but is the overall quality like for like?
Two Looneys are cheaper and more portable than one Stasys 8 box, but is the experience as "musical"?
tony
Paul James Promotions
17-09-2006, 04:16 PM
I've not had chance to compare them yet. I wouldn't think there would be much difference, the looneys would go slightly lower, as they are a longer horn, but the 8's are probrably nicer around 100 - 120hz.
I went for the Stasys 8's because i had a fantastic deal on them. Also, I wanted to stick to a 4 box rig.

Jamie, are you going to use them under the Stasys 8s or as a separate central bass cluster?
When I first saw them I thought (probably same as you) - Void's answer to Tony's Infrabass - perfect for under the 2x18s to really make it happen...... but Rog seems to be suggesting different?
Box for box, the Psycosub has an SPL marginally less than a Stasys8 and significantly less wrms, (800 to be precise) therefore I didn't quite get where Rog was coming from - surely the Stasys 8s still firmly have their place?
Your thoughts?
Tony
Paul James Promotions

I think it would be difficult to match the kick from the Stasys 8. Especially with 2 stacked up, dance music sounds incredibly tight and hard hitting.
