Hi Guys

I've been to look at a venue tonight and the couple have enquired about uplighting. However, the room is wood panelled (kind of a dark oak - obviously a good number of years old) and I'm not sure how well this will handle the light. Before I go and set one up to try it, any experiences?

I've done it before. Not as dramatic a difference as when used in plain walled rooms, but still looks good.

Few photos here, but not the best shots really - http://www.revolution-djs.co.uk/photo-gallery-124-Wedding%20DJ%20with%20LED%20Mood%20Lighting%20%20D umbleton%20Hall.php

I found using reds help to highlight the colour of wooden panels. Have tried to create a wash but not always successful against wood.

The problem your going to have is that the colour will be absorbed by the darkness of the timber.
If the timber was pale, then the light would refract from the wood. (pine and light oak spring to mind)
This is why "bouncing" light off pale surfaces is good.
Best thing to do is try and stick to bright colours so that you can at least get some colour from the timber.
