Have recently been contacted several times by a company promising that they can get you on page 1 of google for your chosen area using 5 key phrases for a fee of approximately £300 a year.
Just wondered if this has worked for members of this forum and is seen as a good investment.
They have put the claims in an e-mail too.
Funnily enough one of my competitors who they said use their service to great effect is coming to Pat test my equipment this weekend- don't know if i should mention it!

Have they told you how though?

And if they're offering it to you... don't you think they will be offering it to x amount of other DJ's in your area too?? Just a money making scheme!

Who gets the top spot then?

Charlie had a bad experience with something similiar despite us telling him not to.

I wont speak for him but I understand that he wished he taken our advice.

£300 would go a long way to getting a site built, designed and also all the required SEO to get a good position on google. Cough "Martin" Cough :)

Google like back links... If your listed on some of the 'free' directories, and to some other ranked sites relating to your business - weddings, bands, magicians etc. Plus lots of little things like updated content and a well built website.

Your natural google ranking will increase over time. Google rankings is a work in progress... unless you do pay moneys to get near the top.... but not £300

Do the free stuff and see where it gets you.

Just develop a good site and google will find you.

Your better off spending that £300 on a few wedding fairs or something.
