Get Me A DJ

If there's anyone who's a qualified engineer, I need some help with a problem.
I would ask my own guy, but he's on holiday.
I've got a RGB laser in for repair and I've managed to pinpoint the the problem down to a 0.5ohm 5% tolerance resistor on the PSU board.
For the life of me I can't get one in the UK other than the far east and even then they are a 1% tolerance or RS, but they are charging me £15.00 postage because they are in the states
What I was wondering, is if I can get away with a 0.51ohm resistor instead?
If I did this, would it cause a problem with the PSU board, or will I be able to get away with it?
Any help would be grateful.
