hi I have found this today which is free and is actually pretty useful.

It organises all the files and puts them as a load of boxes.
if you click on the large boxes it tells you what they are and how much memory they are taking up.
I have found loads of Imovie, serato etc. files that are of no use and taking up LOTS of room.

that’s because this software only tells you where you're using data so you can free up space - it doesn't defragment - which is quite unnecessary with OSX

They are but I am not a wizard and I cannot view all the files on my machine at once by looking at it. :p
Before it was a random matter of trolling through all the folders in the hope that I would find something useless that is over 1gb.

Nice tool too see what's there and how much space its taking up.

Make sure you back up files just in case though. :)
