Website- any ideas why traffic is low?

Hi all,

Like many I have a review of my site from time to time and then ask for advise on here- each time I have done this the main comment has been around the frames on the site (As they work against search engines).

These have now been removed but if I'm honest I have been a little surprised as how little it has changed things- the hit rate varies as you would expect but hasnt increased to any extent since the frames were removed- if anything it seems to have gone down.

It's not been a massive issue of late as I have been busy moving house but I'm now looking to fill a few dates over the summer and it's always nice to have more rather than less enquiries.

Anyone have any thoughts/comments on the SEO side of things, or more broadly around the site (discounting previous comments around colour and the fact that it looks "homemade").

Not trying to teach you to suck eggs, but have you asked brides what they search for ??

Not so easy to do if you think about it. It is not so important what search string brides who have booked you use, as they have already found you :daft: However, at wedding fairs, during meetings etc it is always worth bringing the subject up - I tell them why I like to know - and see how your site works with the given search strings. If it doesn't work with the strings, include the text within your site (Does that make sense :confused: )

I concentrated on ensuring wedding dj xxxxxxx worked but have found a lot of brides were searching for Mobile Disco xxxxxxx strangely enough.

Also, being nosey, what do you class as 'low traffic' ??

Use the google keyword tool... type in ''wedding dj'' or ''disco dj'' etc etc and google will tell you how many people are searching for that term per month and how competitive the keyword is.

Did you know that more people spell laser this way = lazer lol
