What was your first road legal motorbike ? I've said road bike because from the age of 11 I had lots of stripped down dirt track bikes.
My first one was this which I bought brand new in 1973 for about £300 a lot of money then, yes I know it's a moped with folding pedals to make foot rests ( which seem to be missing on that picture ), but I loved it and used to drive to the south coast on it with my mates all on our little 50cc bikes when I was 16 happy days.

I had the Yamaha DT 50 MX not long after my 16th birthday 1991 on a provisional license, oh the freedom ! did about 45 mph if I remember rightly but ALL my mates had a 50cc. From the Suzuki Love Moped to the good old fashioned Step-thru, happy days indeed. :D

My first road legal bike was a Norton Commando (stock photo first pic, but fairly similar looking) Shame I wasn't (road legal that is)
My second (in an attempt for me to go road legal) was a Honda Rebel (newer version in the pic, but you get the general idea of what it looked like) Shame I only owned it for around half an hour before I forgot that British bikes & Japanese bikes have the gears & brakes on opposite sides & crashed it into somebody who pulled out in front of me (Just like in the Think Bike! ad)
My only fully road legal bike (ok it's a trike, but it has a bike engine so it counts) where both it & I were legal. A Yamaha XS1100, which I haven't ridden in about 4 years because there is a wall of disco kit in front of it & I can't get to it.

WOW ! LOL ! That Trike is a BEAST Steve :beer1: My second bike was the Yamaha RD 125 LC my nan bought it for me bless her. I used to always get pulled by the old bill for noise pollution, but never done, as I didn't ever touch the baffle in my full micron exhaust system :p . My RD did 95 mph ! That was screaming it though and the power band in that thing was dangerous (for a 17 year old anyway)

The trike has straight throughs. It's a Q plate & exempt from most regs
(I've done 120 on it, before I realised how fast I was going & slowed down to within the speed limit)

This was my first.
I had it for a 3 days before braking my arm on it.
Didn't use it again.

My old dear flat out refused to allow me to have one when I lived at home. Only had a go on one for about 30 seconds but it was awesome.

My first bike/moped! was a Yamaha FS1E 49cc!:)
I bought it about two weeks before my 16th birthday and was not allowed to use it until I was 16.
Those two weeks were the longest of my life! There is only so much sitting on a moped in the garage you can do, before it becomes boring.
Next up was a Suzuki (i think it was an AP50) which I bought because it was supposed to go about another 10mph faster!
Good times.
I had one of these in the 60s: Sun Challenger, 197cc Villiers 8E engine, but not this one! mine was ready for the scrap yard in comparison, but I thought it was wonderfull at the time. My second bike was an Airiel Arrow (which I crashed) followed by a very tidy, S/H, Royal Enfield Contenental GT which I thought was the mutts nuts.

Very similar Dave, but mine was a little older and don't think it was called the Senda.
Mine was nicked too!
