I don't understand why Torres views it as a step up. To me, Liverpool are a bigger club than Chelsea, despite Chelsea having more domestic success recently. Sadly, I feel it was down to the money on offer :(

The one thing it does highlight to me, is how the likes of Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes really are true legends.

You might be eating those words - He is totally unproven at the top level - He's had one good season in the Championship - ok he has 11 goals so far this season but i think you'll find he's a bit of a one trick pony - he'll become easy to defend against, big tall robust forwrds like that are always worked out - ok he has a bit of pace but that's a lot of money (although Newcastle will be rubbing their hands and laughing) to spend on an unproven player - I hope I'm wrong and that he develops into a world class forward because he's English, but you know what I honestly can't see it.

He reminds me of a young Duncan Ferguson totally unplayable against on his day. Plus before his injury against Spurs he was the best striker in the premiership by a distance
