USA To UK Adaptors American Dj Kit

Have 5 pieces of kit that are American Dj, im very pleased to note that they did come with power leads and adaptors, would have been nice for someone to tell me that i had to unscrew the cover for the 2 pin plug to fit in the adaptor only took me about 2 hours to figure it out DOH....:eek:

Sorry, not sure what you mean. All my ADJ lights have IEC plugs and don't require adapters. I think you need to explain the problem in more detail. :)

All the power leads suplied were IEC but only two pin at the end that plugs into the mains socket an adaptor plug was supplied that the two pin plug clips into, once i had spent a good while working out what had to be done.

Yep! I bought an amp from Thomman and that came with 2 pin plug, but I had the adapters to hand, as you say, unscrew, clip in the 2 pin plug, screw the cover back on and you have the UK 3 pin, took me 2 mins to suss it out though...;)

Are you sure it's not a european plug?

If the kit is american there is more to worry about than the plug. It'll be the wrong voltage (america has not quite half the voltage of europe or the UK. I think it's to stop the daft buggers electrocuting themselves)

Yes your right Steve its a european plug ,and you get a horrible bulky converter simple cut it off and fit with UK plug or iec male.

Correct. And sort of not quite correct. And sort of correct again, as it comes round the other side. :daft:

110v is required to be used on (ususally building ) sites in this country, as Steve so rightly says to avoid the risk of electrocution as much as possible. It's really fun stuff to work with, because we have to carry these :Censored: big transformers to run the gear with.

So if you see some kit with yellow cables/plugs, there's a good reason why they don't fit the blue or red sockets, and it's not colour co-ordination! ;) :D :D :D :D :D
