I presume a few of you have seen these Gemini CDJ-700s (http://www.geminidj.com/cdj-700) that are coming out soon. They look very much like the Pioneer 800s and 2000s - They do the same thing (CDs, play off a variety of formats, MIDI Controllers, built in soundcard), apart from have rekordbox - all you need to do is styleflip it to look like a 2000 and no-one will know the difference
There you go, a CDJ-2000 for £499 (not including the £7 or so styleflip skin) :sj:

They also missed the same as the pioneer

The denon range excepts a keyboard for track searching when you have a hard drive plugged in, if these did it I'd have considered it.

They must feel really cheap though?

You would think so, but obviously I can't comment as I've never seen a real one to have a play - I don't think it can be judged really until someone roadtests it

Yeah defo needs roadtested, I can see it being no where near as responsive.

BTW, if you want the CDJ2000...but the 1000s with Traktor or Serato ;)

don't think so - why would I want a dying format of timecode? ;)

Who says its dying. I know plenty of top jocks who have tried midi and are going back to timecode :D

Just the general impression I got to be fair, Serato Scratch Live and Traktor Scratch pro were slashing prices in the wake of the influx of new controllers such as the S4, Denon 6000, the two new pioneer's due out, the American Audio due out etc etc etc

Yep...then you get Seratos SL4...no controller for that (yet) ;)

All the Midi products/controls you listed above don't work with Scratch Live they all work with Itch which is another form of software from Serato if you have a SL4 box you would be only using this for time code or using it with a midi mapped device which you would need to map using the mapping tool in Scratch Live software.

I got this info from my son hope it helps.

You are indeed correct Tony.

Im planning on getting the SL4 and using 2 time code (dont work in many clubs that have 4 CDJs) and midimapping a device, possibly a Xone 1d...although the Akai LPD8 is just about useable as a basic "Start/pause/pitch bend/pitch control" device for 2 decks.
