View Full Version : Who has met who?

So who has met who off MDD? There’s a fair few on here I haven’t met and would like to.
I have spoken to Daren on the phone a few times recently and he sounds like a really clued up chap and I think he would be interesting to meet…Also a mate of mine who works for a chap with a Dance Head set-up was in the same venue as Daren the other day and she said what a nice chap and pro DJ he was. I’m going to meet Scott from Tamworth on Friday, now he sounds a really interesting lad so I’m looking forward to that. I have chatted to Ian Forest and his Wife Tracey lots of times and they are both fabulous characters but we’ve never met so I want to meet them before long. I have met a few off here like Danno, James, Derek P to name a few but there are so many interesting sounding characters that I am looking forward to meeting in the not too distant future.

I've met Alex, Pete Williams and Brian Mole, been in the same room as Ian & Tracey (but not actually said "hi" - but do owe Ian a drink at the next SEDA meet).
I'll try to meet up with Angela and Steve at some point soonish.
There appears to be a highish concentration of Midlands/Northern DJ's in many forums, and I guess BPM would be a good place to pub faces to names.
And then meet Peter at the bar before we go and slate Numark. :beer1:

If you have gone to SEDA , I have seen you , if you have been to Clives DJ show at Lacey Green , I have seen you ....:D
I have met a few members , and with out exception , all have been first class people , people that I have a great deal of respect for.
Sometimes forums can be too black and white , there`s nothing like meeting face to face.

Couldn't agree more.
For example...Mr T.
Honestly, when I first joined (13/14 years old) he was quite frank/rude/harsh....how wrong was I.
I'm sure most of you who have met Darren, will know what I mean?

Sorry Daryll forgot we met at the NADJ trade show about 2-3 years ago. Actually there are a fair few more I have met, some of them not being particularly active members and I didn't realise they were members.
Had a good chat to Steve and Angela too, in fact chatted Angela up...lol...sorry Steve...looking forward to meeting you both.
I hope to make BPM this year, trouble is I need to take work and can't justify turning it down and for the past 2 years I have been working and not been able to attend. the last show I went to was NADJ about 3 years ago and even then I had to go at about 4pm in order to get to a job in Heydock.
I've heard about the MDD corner of the bar at BPM and hope to be there this time...I'll give Daren a run for his money.

Would be easier to say who I haven't met.
Met all the North East guys(great lads)And Mary too.
Haven't met Daryll yet but spoken to him on the blower on many occasion.
Haven't met Andy Goodtimes but he says he frequents Redcar to visit family.
Not met the Corabar Clan(or have I at BPM)
Darren Thomas, but spoken on the phone(nice chap BTW)
John Twinspin(that will be a fun meeting lol)
And I would love to meet Charlie \brown(if only to cut his hair)
So there's a list of people to meet.
Hopefully going to BPM this year so give me a tap on the shoulder.

Charlie. Darren's a lovely lad. Just don't go near him when he's in a Car Park. cost me nearly £200.  ( mind you, I did get a superb powered mixer for my money. )

A concerted visit to them would appear to be in order. In the name of all that's holy, how can you make an item with a removable drive, which uses a connector that's effectively obsolete? :daft:

Paul; my Dad doesn't live in Redcar any more, he used to be in Gosforth Avenue but he went to Scarborough a couple of years ago...In fact I think it was last time I went to Redcar that I met up with Colin for a chinese in Durham. I hope we will meet up soon, I have jobs up that way at Durham and Sunderland University, my lad is still in Sunderland and him and his girlfriend are looking at buying a house in South Shields so there will be some chances coming up.
It is very true that you must never form an opinion until you meet someone because the keyboard does funny things to people. I have some excellent friends that have been met from other forums and I never liked some of them at first.
I think that is also true of DJs generally, people appear to have an idea of what DJs should be like and if you look round a meeting of DJs it is hard to imagine some of them being DJs. I know folk that are so gentle, quiet and softly spoken and put them behind a mic with a couple of hundred mad party goers and they change completely.

Met Scott from Tamworth on Friday, only had a short time for a chat as he had to drive on to Daren in Redding but it was good to meet a young lad with his head screwed on right and knowing exactly what he is up to. I have a very successful DJ mate that does loads round Scotts area so I'll put them in touch with each other and hopefully it will be a worthwhile bit of networking for them both...It's all good stuff!
